basic technique for one style of muay thai kick
yes.. and it also depends on what you learn .. and what you learn maybe you learn more techniques or more fighting *sparring*
and how the teacher behaves *too soft or too hard*
I agree its not the art that counts. However, the discipline you train in does provide you with your tools of combat. Not just taekwondo but any style limits the number of ways to look at it. So, I think nobody should do just one style if they're serious about martial arts.

By lillianbrent [Affiliate User] 1203339086 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removesorry dragondcdc....your a loser...u obviously dont know much about martial arts or maybe you only do taekwon do...taekwon do cant get u anywhere in a real street fight...someones not gonna stand still long enough for you to do your big fancy moves...

too rigid and not fluid enough...
muay thai is raw power with finess...
taekwondo = speed, flexibility
muay thai = power
taekwondo + muay thai =power, speed, flexibility.
arms back!? and where is the defense?

By AznHardcoreGodOfSexy [Affiliate User] 1203106089 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI'm the same with the toe, I take it you mean spinning a bit on your front foot before twisting the hips for the kick, yeah?
By acasstic [Affiliate User] 1203085064 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNah sorry dude you've got this one a bit wrong. That power used to swing the arm back just adds rotational leverage to the power of the kick! Relax! :P
By acasstic [Affiliate User] 1203084979 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveBullshit? ok then, well i am not familiar with how pussies kick but i can tell you now, try kicking with power next time and see how hard it is to not use your arm. The arm does not disadvantage the kick at all. Power and speed comes from torso and hips. The arm as i said is the only thing to stop ur upper body (head and shoulders) to twist right around.
By Wittez111 [Affiliate User] 1203039533 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveBullshit, counter-balance? If you pull your arm back it means your putting power in your upper-body to go back instead of forward along with your kick. It's much more wise to help your kick by moving in your shoulders more.
By hm703dtA9 [Affiliate User] 1203033135 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI believe this IS indeed the correct way to kick. The if you are kicking with right leg, the right arm muct come back to "counter-balance".If you dont need to do this, there is a problem. Either there is not enough speed or not enough power in your kicks. The only thing he is doing wrong is the left hand guard which i dont think is a big deal as he is ONLY DEMONSTRATING THE KICK.The only other thing is i usually twist my foot before i extend my leg for the kick. More speed inturn= more power:)
By Wittez111 [Affiliate User] 1202942984 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removenice kick, nice form, keep your hands up though....
By panterafan01 [Affiliate User] 1202936426 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeyeah I'm not a fan of dropping the arm back, more traditional style gives a bit more flare and power to the kickand helps return you too stance. But leaves you open for a straight depending where the round house is aimed at. it's mostly for opening range on your hip, but you can also do so with your guard up a lil more difficult on your balance but worth the trying out
