sorry for the following comment, but i think the guy who's talking doesn't know anything about kata, karate etc., and he always says the same! So watch it without sound *biggrinning*

these girls are crazy! they must have been through hours of hard, discipline trainings.
their endurance is superb! maintaining consistent power, speed, breathe, and concentration throughout apprx. 8 minutes of time is definitely very very very hard thing to do! salut Japan female kata team! can't wait to see your performance in this year WKF Championship :)

An amazing performance. Very strong Kime, good rhythm and it seems to have captured the crowd. Excellent katas and Bunkai with a very high technical abilities.

Oh yess, they trained a lot in order to perform ahnan as only ONE person. But where was left the spirit of the kata ? Changing times and "combat attitude" maybe is worth a gold medal but this performance is a mere dance !
Not to talk about bunkai...should it be the way to fight for life by using the technics hidden in this form ? Was it real ?
I think Wkf rules are ruining our martial art...

you don't know anything about karate, there doesn't have to be 2 colors of belt in teamkata. NO BLUE OR RED,,, that's only with figthing...

When in competition, the contestants have to wear blue (ao) or red (aka) belts. In competition there are no ranks. Ranks are only in training and daily use. The darker belt, the higher rank.

IN KARATE THERE ARE ALWAYS TWO COLORS OF BELT,FOR TO MAKE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THOSE WHICH CLASH... IN TEAM OR INDIVIDUAL.
FIGHT AND KATA.
BLUE = ao
RED = aka
IT'S NOTHING TO SEE WITH THE RANKS OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

I believe the belts are for team coordination only (note the French team all wears blue) and not a representative or rank.

What's with the commentator? He is very annoying and full of sh!t.

what rank are the performers? I am not familar is it black belt? Or equivalent to Brown or is it Grand Master 9th Dan?
