Texas cop Steve Russell is living the life as a loving Christian husband and father, but all that changes when he discovers that he's gay. He decides he wants a new life, and turns to fraud and con jobs to get it for him. But this can only manage to get him so far--like so far into a Texas prison. When Russell meets Phillip Morris, a fellow inmate who somehow manages to be the love of Russell's life, he engages in a series of escape attempts designed to get him his chance at love.
