In 1986 two school friends made a simple backyard jet, this was the start of a life long world wide hobby.

Today jet builders around the world can easily see each others efforts in creating backyard jet chaos.

A sure fire way to really make friends with neighbours, even ones streets away.

Episode 2 is now available and a invitation is posted on that video for a oppunity to be involved in episode 3.

Jet builders and collectors around the world will enjoy this video, and hopefully inspire others to take up the Backyard Jet hobby.

    Brilliant video. Well presented (though with that distinctive 80's/90's audio and video quality), informative, and great camera-work. Not ZOMG FIRE LETS RUN! You guys actually know what you are doing (at least enough so you don't kill yourselves... ;-) ) Loved the Derwent. Simple yet effective editing, with no crap transitions and video effects. Off that topic, those jet engines were awesome! I want to do that now... (so far I've only made a pulse jet engine in a jam jar...)

    i just love it how all these morons think they know what they're doing. they all looked like they were doing a high school backyard project, but with a machine that could have blown themselves up or knocked them on their ass. They weren't even wearing any prtection. Is that even legal to do by the way???? i wonder how much footage they cut out of them hurting themselves.
    Awesome machine though, just do it in a work shop, not in your backyard!
