some people are not emotionally stable enough to to serve. Unfortunately they learn too late, I was in the Navy and had had a "Pile "type person in our company. He flipped out asked everyone to jump up and down on his arms and legs and cripple him so he could be discharged on a medical.

Pubeman123, they turn you into a killing machine, but they can't turn you back. Ask the ex-servicemen and women of what they've suffered after they've left the forces, and they'll all tell you the same story. War maketh man, but that is what it makes you, man, brutal and barbaric.

As for this scene I remember watching this when I was a child, and I always had sympathy for Ed, but not when he did that. The sounds and the ambience of this scene makes it one of the best in history if you ask me.
