The great Lebanese singer Fairouz sang this song during the Lebanese civil war. The lyrics pertain to the civil war (1975-90), but are also apropos to recent turmoil in Lebanon. Haifa sang the song at the concert in May 2008 when Lebanon was celebrating a political accord. The song fit that particular occasion.
