how to succeed as a raw vegan? here is a brief intro.
For a few years I have been consuming and for decade or two my mentors have been consuming 3,4,and even 5 lbs meals and trust me it works and will be beneficial for you. Of course being in touch with your body is important, but notice how if you under eat on volume than you will be hungry in an hour or two. Initially for the first year or two you will most likely need to eat at least 3 maybe 4 meals a day until your digestive system heals and detoxifies.
By ManofTruthHealth [Affiliate User] 1226471822 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveOur digestive anatomy is perfectly suitable for a meal consisting of 2 to 3 lbs in volume if you are a small individual about 80 to 140 lbs. and 3 to 5 lbs if you are 140 to 200 lbs. It will take a bit of practice and a bit of time to get use to consuming this much food for a meal. All primates consume significant volumes like this. To be satisfied for few hours and have fuel to be physically active you will have to consume this volume predominantly consisting of sweet and juicy fruits.
By ManofTruthHealth [Affiliate User] 1226471433 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveBut when you consume your physiological (species specific) food which is high in water content, high in fiber, high in digestive enzymes, containing no excess fat, basically super easy to digest, absorb, and eliminate than to consume small volumes is not ideal. I wish that people could experience how it feel to be completely satiated for 4,5,6 hours from one meal, only consuming 2 sometimes 3 meals a day with no snacks, beverages, candy cravings. Maybe one extra glass of water a day.
By ManofTruthHealth [Affiliate User] 1226470542 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWe come from a western diet which is low in fiber, low in water content, high in fat, very very low in digestive enzymes, denatured by heat, oxidized by air(processing), basically a very dense next to indigestible diet. We have been told and conditioned to eat small volume meals, small in terms of our digestive anatomy. Eastern philosophy is right partly, that best is to eat a tiny volume of a small bowl or so but this is because the food is extremely hard to digest (next to indigestible).
By ManofTruthHealth [Affiliate User] 1226469668 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe main challenge for 90+% of people consuming raw food diet is to learn to consume anatomically appropriate volume for your meals consisting of foods containing predominantly simple carbohydrates. I have seen dozens of people including good friends of mine go back towards western diet predominantly because they under ate in volume and under ate on simple carbohydrates, plus did not follow healthy lifestyle habits.
By ManofTruthHealth [Affiliate User] 1226469070 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNature is not cruel it will never give a species its physiological diet which is insufficient in any nutrient. If you consume Fresh, Whole, Ripe, Raw, Mature fruits/vegetables/nuts and seeds meeting your caloric needs and practice all the other healthy lifestyle areas (sleep/air/exercise/sunlight etc. than you will thrive to the best of your inherent abilities. We all may not become Olympic athletes or world record holders but you (your organism) will thrive to its fullest.
By ManofTruthHealth [Affiliate User] 1226468461 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHow would all the Herbivorous and Foliovorous species get their fat if they eat almost exclusively grasses, herbs, and or leaves. A horse or a giraffe have huge bodies with incredible muscle mass and are many times more active than humans requiring much much more Omega fatty acids than us. They get it from their physiological diet and don't have to consume Oils or fatty stuff. Primates in the wild consume 6 to 8% of their calories from fat and about 85% from simple carbohydrates?
By ManofTruthHealth [Affiliate User] 1226467931 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveBut as your digestive system and inevitably rest of your body heal and clean out from decades of consuming a non physiological diet/nutrition you will find that you will crave less fat. After my 40 day water fast supervised by Loren Lockman I am able to maintain 15 lbs above and beyond what I was able to before the fast. Get your fats from whole fresh fruits, vegetables, and soaked nut and seeds. Oils and dehydrated crackers are a thing to stay away from or minimize at the most.
By ManofTruthHealth [Affiliate User] 1226467487 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIf you don't destroy/denature your fat(fatty acids) by cooking or other forms of processing than you don't need the super large quantities which are recommended by Main stream Medical paradigm. Fatty acids are very delicate and easyly can spoil in the presence of air / heat / or light. Rancid / oxidized fats are very detrimental and opposite of antioxidants. Initially you will crave more fatty foods as western diet has 40% calories from fat.
By ManofTruthHealth [Affiliate User] 1226466870 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveFor example Romaine lettuce and spinach have about 14% calories from fat. Durian 30%, Avocados 77%, Tomato red 9%. There are fatty tropical fruits of all sorts not including dozens and dozens of nuts and seeds. Green leafy vegetables have fat also. Lets take an example a Honeydew melon has 330 mg of Omega 3's and 260 mg of omega 6's per 1kg (1000grams) or just over 2 lbs serving. To meet your fat requirements is very easy, you would have to under eat on total calories to be deficient on fat.
By ManofTruthHealth [Affiliate User] 1226466231 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveEvery living cell contains fat and protein in it. These are two of the building blocks of all living cells. All things: fruits, vegetables, flesh, grains, legumes, grass, leaves etc. contain various amounts of fat (fatty acids). There are several leading Doctors / scientists with lots of evidence pointing to the fact that 5% to 15% of calories from Fat is ideal to consume for adult humans. Fruit alone on average contains 5% to 7% calories from Fat. Some fruit much more and some less.
By ManofTruthHealth [Affiliate User] 1226463854 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhat you say has the ring of truth. However, how does one get their omega 3 fatty acids on a raw vegan diet? I mean, do you have to go out of your way to eat flaxseeds and walnuts everyday? Where does this Durianrider get his omega 3 fatty acids?
By JesusChrist5000 [Affiliate User] 1226460732 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveSupplements are highly refined fragments of foods. The best modern science still to date has no way of extracting an individual nutrient from a food say a mineral for example and for it to be in the same form / condition. Even "whole" food supplements once you dehydrate a food the minerals revert to their metal/inorganic forms and loose their ionic charge. Nutrients in our foods each interplay with / require dozens of other nutrients directly or indirectly in order to be effective.
By ManofTruthHealth [Affiliate User] 1226453808 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveManofTruthHealth, that is very very interesting... question for you then:
1) What is your opinion regarding nutritional supplements?
I've been reading Arnold Ehret, and his teachings coincide with what you are saying.
All said and done no I strongly believe and all my research point to it that all humans would thrive best in Tropical/sub tropical environment.
There are other variable to consider than just sun exposure when considering ideal climate for any species. Nuts are consumed by present day primates and do to their long shelf life when dehydrated they played an important role in our nutrition during times of not enough food. They are concentrated for of calories and have an ok nutrient content.
