  • Wow, that's really ...

Wow, that's really interesting... in the shot that commences at roughly 2:22, you can see some guys playing some big, old-fashioned bass viols or something in the background, because they have six strings. True to the original, no doubt! Also, my Naxos copy of this piece does that loud screamy noise at about 2:31 four times, but in the same amount of time, not twice. I wonder why. I've posted a vid of it now, with pics, which would show what I mean about the four times thing.

Her trill at 1:33 is mind-bogglingly fast! Wish I could trill like that hehe. Then again, only ben playing 16 months. Very birdlike, excellent. I love the singing birds part of this movement, as I am a violinist AND a birdwatcher! hehe. Great rendition

I was in the audience of this New Year Concernt in Berlin about two decades ago. It was a rare event: A couple of great musicians did feel their oats at the same time .... Wonderful.

What makes you such an expert in classical music?? Their intonation, phrasing, and tempo are perfect, if you don't like this music, then just cover up your ears. Personally, I think Vivaldi would be very pleased with this version.

Your comment is certainly true, but since Heifetz died about 20 years ago, the word "rules" doesn't really apply any more. Past tense would be more appropriate.

Actually, I think Heifetz rules the violin world, he is quite possibly the best violin player ever, because he plays it extremely well, and makes it look so effortless!
