Hey! No need to be rude. People are entitled to their own perspectives or opinions. Don't condemn them for thinking something different.

  • are any of you ...

are any of you serious? to say this song is written about stings faith in satan or any other deity is just a load of shite. its more than likely about his wife, as in the middle eight of the song he says "every time i close my eyes i see ur face". i doubt every time he closes his eyes hes sees a horned goat man or something. so please get a life and stop talking shite it upsets me and id say it upsets sting to think such plebs listen to his music

I know what you mean about the mystically significant video. I like it too! Joan of arc...hard to say...there are a lot of ideas, both real and unreal, amidst all the images...

  • Ok, I guess so, if ...

Ok, I guess so, if you only listen to songs that glorify your god. Only that you'll miss out on a lot of good music that way. We can't really say much about Sting because there isn't really any proof either way. I suppose this isn't going to go anywhere, and since I probably won't see you again, have a good life!

  • Shalom. I was a big ...

Shalom. I was a big fan of the Police many years ago; in fact I still listen to it sometimes. But, since I put my faith in Ha-Shem, I only listen to music that glorifies Him. My reliable source said" You cannot try and use this song to praise God with because it was written for ha-satan." The song sounds good, but I have a problem with the message. Sting knows who he wrote this song to, why doesn't he admit it?

  • Well, ok. No ...

Well, ok. No worries about the not swearing. I always thought that music is what you feel or see when you hear it. Even if Sting was worshipping the devil, which I suppose we can't prove either way, why not just sit back and enjoy the music? I mean, if you just listen to it and think about who YOU put your faith in, suddenly it doesn't matter what was meant by the song at all. And it really is a nice song, right?

  • Shalom. Shalom ...

Shalom. Shalom means "peace" in Hebrew. Jews use it for hello and goodbye. And, yes I am Jewish. The name "Ha-satan" is Hebrew for the devil. "Ha" means "the" and "satan" means "adversary". You did not offend me and thank you for not using profanity when replying to my comments. I don't believe that I am overreacting. Many rock artist worship hasatan or the devil secretly. Sure they write many love songs like Sting, but who are they really referring to?

  • I don't know what ...

I don't know what you mean by 'Shalom' or why you call Satan 'Ha-Satan' (I'm sorry if I offend you; its out of my ignorance and nothing else), but I think you might be overreacting. I mean, when you look at all his songs, they're all so full of love. Its the gothic end of the world rock you have to be careful of. And thing song sounds great anyway! Well, just my point of view.

Shalom dc000! I said that not to sway anyone's opinion but to just voice my belief. You are entitled to your interpretation like I am entitled to mine. I do want to say "toda raba (Hebrew for thank you very much)" for your mature reply. You were not overbearing nor did you use profanity. May Ha-Shem bless you is my prayer for you.

  • Shalom! I'm a ...

Shalom! I'm a Pisces girl and I follow my instincts, not what "reliable" unknown sources say. So I'm afraid I'll stick with my own intepretation. Sting is a very spiritual person. He has always embraced humanitarian causes. His songs are full of love. And that's what I read in those lyrics. But I guess anyone has the right to their own interpretation. May the Light be with you!
