Of those six, only 1 of them had any quality of life from what I read. If show signs of rabies, your doomed.

I don't believe there is really a "cure" for it.. if you are bitten and receive IMMEDIATE treatment, you usually can stop symptoms and the virus from progressing, but once symptoms occur.. it's usually too late.. I believe only six people EVER have survived symptomatic rabies...

I believe he said real world because he meant in reallity. Subconscious paraphrase in my opinion. I do share his point of view, that in the third world when bit by an animal you don't consider taking a rabies shot.

yes, it's unfortunate...but, better the cat than a kid.

There are ways of preventing the virus from manifesting into its full-blown stage. But, more importantly there are preventative measures that will ensure that noone will get it...like using vaccinations on animals.

The thing that "There is no cure" is a tough one.

There's many prevention drugs which can be taken to stop it from taking over - though these have to be administered within 72hours of the bite/infection. Otherwise there has been a couple of theoretical cures - but as stated only 1 has actually worked.

I suppose it's a bit like AIDs - There's no cure at the moment in time, but I'm sure with all the medical breakthru's happening there will be one one day.

you r stupid if u get it in ur brain u r dead there is no cure. study up on it i have been in animal contol for many years. i have cut off hundreds of heads and sent them to the lab in Raleigh NC. and a member of NCARCA north carolina animal rabies control acc. the shots u get are not a cure but a preventative. study up on things before u open your mouth. Russia claims to have the only person cured of rabies a 14 y/o girl. but we never heard of all the facts, and dont know if its true.CDC

wrong there is no cure if u show signs of having rabies . but if your bit u can get post exposure shots. its not a cure. u can also get pre exposure shots like i did.... check the facts with CDC or state lab.. i have sent several heads off to the lab for over five years. and seen several dogs with expired or no rv shots live from a rabid bite. in six month quarentine

im sorry to break it to you, but if you get bit by a rabid animal, there is a cure. so guess what, that means that there is a cure.

Some of them Country did not good take care of animals and love animals. That is sad. I do love animals. I took my cats went to vet shot for rabies. I don't let my cats outside. I take care of cats. STUPID SOME COUNTRY HIT AND KILL DOGS AND CATS.

There are cures. However once you are symptomatic you are as good as dead. There are only 6 known cases worldwide where people who have developed the neurological symptoms related to this disease have survived.
