Bruce Springsteen - War

This song, and the speech that precedes it were, and still are, extremely important, especially in these times. The words that speak most to me as a younger person are the line, "because blind faith in your leaders can get you killed," and we are seeing a lot of this now with the Iraq war and all of the possible other conflicts. I'm amazed that Bruce hasn't played this at all on his tour, not even in the D.C. show.

The words of this song are just as true today, if not truer. I love my country, the USA, but I'm apalled and horrified and do not support the choices made by our administration over the past 7 years. Who am I kidding? It's been longer than that.........

War makes your economy safe and that is ok for you? You should read a book about wars written by GINO STRADA (an italian surgeon who works as a volunteer in afganistan) called "green parrots" to understand what wars are good for: absolutely nothing! the way bruce sings this song succeds in express what i feel aboout war. Why had he to go to Vietnam? to kill people? To get killed? To dodge the draft was the only way for not being a killer or come back in a coffin!

The obvious is yet another foreign person telling the USA what we should do, but you forget how many times we have probably saved your little country even though you would not fight to save yourself. He is a great songwriter and performer, but a coward because he would not fight for his country. More of his type and we end up like your country.
