Safety gear check list: One helmet, check. One lap seat belt, Check. End of list. Times have changed racing. Those guys were real idiots for doing that sport or had really big balls or maybe both.

jeff gordon is a good all around race car driver and i don't think many nascar drivers could compete in f1. he did pretty well in the video but Indianapolis speedway road coarse is pretty easy compared to other f1 race courses. if he ever had a top qualifying time in Monaco then i would have complete respect for him.

CORRECTION! He was a second off. Still impressive for gordon to get a f1 car for the first time and pull that off.

I agree they were stupid for leaving F1. But do a youtube search for Jeff Gordon and Juan pablo. When they traded rides. Gordon ran a lap that would of qualified for the pole for the US Grand Prix.

well by all you must mean a few f1 drivers, and as far as i know, no nascar drivers have gone to f1 because they wouldn't have a chance in hell in competing. also it's kinda stupid to leave f1 to go to nascar because jimmie johnson made around 9 million last year while the top f1 driver michael schumaker made around 62 million in 2006.

HAHAHA! I wondered why all the F1 drivers that have switched to nascar recently. They are having such great success. S**t ! They barely complete a lap.

nascar is the gayest form of racing in the world. if you want to watch some real racing that takes a lot more skill you should watch moto gp or formula one.

NASCAR's lack of excessive speed at daytona and talledega is not nearly as sad as the prototype classes at LeMans. In the seventies, cars were going 230+ on the Mulsanne Straight, and in the 80's some cars were hitting 250 MPH. Now they have two chicanes on the cars are restricted to about 190. At least NASCAR hasn't put any artificial chicanes in there racetracks.

Its not all about speed. The technology is in the brakes, suspension, safety and such. You wont get as many cars to roll becuase of new tech.

Oh, come on, now. With our VAST population, along wif some other factors (depending on whatever stats you were using) We simply can't compete with some other countries in some areas. We still gave the world the airplane, the assembly line, the lightbulb, the Panama canal, Chuck Norris, the Corvette, modern democracy, um, football, need I go on? thanks for not being an elitist prick wif your comments.
