My three week old pregnant platy, a week left till she gives birth. She died in January 2009 just before giving birth to other sets of fry. May her soul R.I.P i miss her dearly. No platy could ever replace her amazing characteristics : =(

    When you start seeing the males swimming with the female everywhere they go, then it means that they are in the breeding period. Soon the females's stomach will start getting big/fat and if the females are light colored, then you will start seeing some red/brownish spot near the end of stomach towards the tail. Look at my vid carefully again to see the stop. 3-4 weeks after breeding the spot will be very noticeable and that's when u kno that she's about to drop the fry(babies)
