Carl Sagan on Human Brain

All humans do, to some degree.

Dominance hierarchies and territorial behaviours... it seems that some human beings ignore rational thought that Carl Sagan is proud of, they behave according to their genetics, fascinating. Carl Sagan was truly a great man and inspirational human being.

We most certainly are at the mercy of our reptile brain core. Why else would otherwise intelligent people (doctors, teachers, engineers) do terrible acts (suicide bomb, R**e , create pseudo science, etc.)?

Because once out of the water, we needed to change the disposition of the respiratory system, or die. The sea is a very protective environment, which regulates temperature, pression and humidity as almost constants. It's not the same out of the water.

Evolution isn't a scientific 'fact' that is 'proven'. It is a testable theory based on a tremendous amount of facts and evidence, (any moron who wants to say it's 'just a theory' - look up what scientific theory means - it is NOT the same as colloquial use of the term). Nothing in science is proven. Before you wanna argue for either side of an issue, learn a little about it first. Neither of you know what you're talking about.

Absence of religion is not a religion. Darwin was a Christian. Sagan was an atheist and a scientist. Two separate but complementary things.

So you can believe things through your imagination or you can understand the world through research and observation. The choice is yours. 2bill Christians 1bill Islam 14mill judaism 7mill Baha'i Faith 900mill Hindus and they all think they are right wow. That is why we have so much peace in the world today.

How can evolution be a religion? It is a scientific fact proven through test and research. Not a imaginary belief that has to rely on supernatural events and magical people to boast its credibility. It also does not condemn you to hell if you do not agree with its results, (yet) it does allow you to challenge and evaluate the findings.

He has not started a religion. He already conforms to a religion of which Charles Darwin is the leader...namely Evolution. Therefore your religion is evolution.

Carl Sagan was just as much of a poet, as he was a scientist.

We should use more of the cerebral functions of reason and logic, and stop relying so heavily on our primate instincts; Especially following leaders blindly.

Wow. I never knew the brain evolved in layers like that. Makes me very envious of the people (if any) living 100 million years from now. Just imagine what new features our brain evolve too. SUPER POWERS> Telekenisis? Telepathy. I wish. yeah. hahaha. Why couldn't I have been born 100 million years form now. so sad. =(

okay see that's my point. they're mammals too, and they have it , why not us? why did we get screwed over by natural selection.
