IPhone 3G Assembly - Repair Tutorial

Well I figured it out....the connector goes in from the TOP SIDE of the phone.

It's funny how that part is magically skipped in the video. The other 2 plugs are obvious but I am at a loss on how to get the #3 pushed in.

there are 3 ribbons coded 1, 2 and 3. first, insert ribbon 3 by pushing open the small white piece 90 degrees up. Then push 2 in till it clicks followed by 1. If you don't insert these properly, you will find that the touch screen doesn't work properly when you've turned your phone on. I had the same problem myself but then tried again n worked fine.

We dropped our iphone 3g and broke the glass and purchased a replacement touch screen+digitizer for the new iphone 3g (purchased in dec 2008 at at&t store) and it is different front my touch screen+digitizer. mine has metal brackets (rails) on either side affixed to the plastic shell - the replacement one does not. are there 2 different versions or can you direct me to someone that has the crrect one?

I believe your antenna module is not installed properly. The tabs on the module must be on top of the tabs on the housing, otherwise the contact on the home button doesn't touch the contact on the module, therefore it won't work

can you offer advice on putting the two halves together and connecting the connections? (ribbon and 2 push in connectors).

what do you use to get the ribbon in all the way?

You have to use a heat gun to soften the glue... it's scary as hell, but I got mine fixed.

yes and try to order only the glass...then tell me how to remove the home button and frame from the glas to put it in the new glas! all bullshit, it doenst work...they all sell S**t and like me a lot will order it...
