The favourite prog/hard song of most of Genesis fans, including Steve Hackett's guitar solo!!!

Super lineup: Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett, Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks.

This is from the Foxtrot (Supper is ready) Tour, January 10th 1973 in "Le Club Bataclan", Paris.

I know a lot of people will consider this blasphemy, but I prefer 80's Collins-era Genesis... I'll take "Turn It On Again" or "Driving the Last Spike" over this any day.

I believe the story goes that the band was originally named Genesis and then they discovered a band out there with the same name so they were kinda renamed for a moment with that Genesis to Revelation label.

I think the first seeds of progresive came from a few works from Blue Öyster Cult, they have very good songs that could be seen as progresive

  • Though a Long time ...

Though a Long time Genesis fan (since I saw them in 1974 in Cleveland) I have never really cared for "the Knife" and the first album (Genesis to Revelations). Their REAL creative work didnt start until Nursery Crimes in 1971...but thats just my opinion. Still awesome to see the footage of a young Peter in action... wonder what he thinks seeing himself back then all hyper and self-concious hehe
