    The ties, positioning, mat awareness, and reaction (chain wrestling) of these two is amazing. They're probably equal as well in strength and technique, with Metcalf having an edge in conditioning that is increased by Schlatter's injury. The injury is also probably why Schlatter stuck to the slide-by here (the one he hit in the first was beautiful). In my opinion, these guys are the top two collegiate wrestlers in the nation and a healthy, rejuvenated Schlatter makes this an even better match.

    lol If you wanna talk about lack of class, then lead by example and refrain from using words to criticize my right of opinion. I understand that schlatter has won 4 state titles but you have to look at the fact that when schlatter was in high school he used all type of moves that any other person would use(doubles, singles, high crotches) but when it came to high quality oppponets like churalla,masa, storniolo, or esposito he has used that duck most of the time.

    all schlatter has is his slideby? are you an idiot? he didnt win a national title and 4 state titles and all he has done with just a slideby. he used it a couple times in this match and if that's what it takes to score on metcalf.....he damn well better do it. These are two phenomenal wrestlers that shouldnt be criticized about their abilities at all unless you can wrestle them and show em otherwise. if anyone deserves criticism, it should be metcalf for his poor sportmanship and lack of class

    Preaching class- your comments contradict. I've seen Metcalf wrestle a number of matches 1st hand this season and I wouldn't classify aggresion and intensity with lack of class. As amatter of fact I watched Quentin Fuentes from Ok-ST. blatantly head-but Metcalf and Brent responded with nothing but class. Lacking self esteem? I think a licensed phycologist would disagree. Would you say Smith, Karelin and Gable were lacking humility? Metcalf is no more intense then the 3- lets be honest.

    All metcalf has is a double legs and snap down go behinds, slater has more than just slide by's. Metcalf takes sloppy shots to try and show offensiveness and schlatter will show metcalf what a snap down really feels like. Metcalf has the tendency to relax a little once he has beat someone. Schlatter will come back in the rematch Just like he did at Senior nationals when metcalf beat him in double over time earlier in the year, hopefully dustin gets in better shape by this weekend.

    This match is classic Metcalf... great wrestler, but a world-class prick. I've almost never seen the guy wrestle without some cheap shot. Too bad such a great wrestler has so little self esteem and a such a small-man complex that he has to act so classless. He will win nationals though. But it will be lacking any humility.
