I totally agree with you on that. Professor Dawkins hits it right on the head, simply, indoctrinating children into their parent's religion is akin to child abuse. it makes them dislike or bias towards other religions right at the get go.

  • In God we Trust ...

In God we Trust wasn't added on the currency until 1856.

It was founded on the principles of secularism.

  • One has to admit ...

One has to admit that the Church did a great deal for "universal education". But we must also say that it's the 21th century and we should really be behond that. Dawkins is spot on when he talks about learning about religion. Beleive me, we do face that issue right now. Some oppose to the "reform". We need secular schools and institutions. It'S the only way to be fare.

  • You do not have to ...

You do not have to swear on a bible, you may swear on the constitution.

The religious idiots of the mid 1950's legislature put into law the whole "In God We Trust" on our currency. I don't see that staying on our currency any longer than the end of this century.

I thought that in the US you have to swear on a *bible* in *court*. In addition, I am lead to believe that there is 'In God We Trust' written on US money. Seperated? Hm, it seems rather suspect to me.

I support religion in education, in that we should be teaching our children the dangers of religion and the sillyness of believing in any of the nonsense and bullshit that religion is always trying push on everybody else.

"That doesn't mean there is a seperation of church and state"
    What doesn't?
"We literally say, seperation of church and state "
Where can I find this literal "seperation of church and state"

Apart for the Treaty of Tripoli the only reference I can find is the 1st. and 14th. Amendments.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; "

I would like to know how many secular countries make reference to God on their coinage. This is a strange thing for a secular government to have.

"The US is the only government in the world separating church and state."
Not so, there are many secular states France is a secular state. The Australian constitution address' this issue explicitly.
section 116: "The Commonwealth shall not make any law for establishing any religion, or for imposing any religious observance, or for prohibiting the free exercise of any religion, and no religious test shall be required as a qualification for any office or public trust under the Commonwealth."
