# 41 - Dave Matthews Band Featuring John Mayer

great solo by john here...no wonder they call him slow hand jr.

He said it in front of me backstage, no video. He claimed Dave often forgets his fans and doesnt personally thank them enough or have anough VIP backstage expereinces. This was in Wallinggford, CT in 03. I worked the show. I was pretty pissed considering Im a huge Dave and Carter fan.

JM is a bullshitter. ask JM what he said about dave behind the scenes in 02 at oakdale theater. JM, your always be playing in fairfield bars in my book. You owe that man your life. Now go release room for squares a third time bitch.

that's exactly what I thought... it fits the song the best out of the ones I've heard and isn't too over the top.

His solo was more than OK..wow...it doesn't have to be a mind blowing fast lead...it has to fit that song...and it was an incredible style..it sounded like John...and was a great funk lead...amazing job...great duo!

Everyone loves to play on #41 because Carter is a such an amazing drummer!! Most can't believe the funk he has

obviously this is dmb's concert mayers arent there to overpower dmb -he plays his solo to accompany the song more than overpowering it

It is true. In an interview, John said he used the same style of DMB for arranging the music (melody, etc.)for his earlier pop songs.

this is weird.... i've seen john mayer bash dave in interviews...

I call it skill and I've been around and listened to great guitar players...I know what i like. and before you ask me for anything that could "qualify" my opinion as valid. try this: i've been making music for twenty years as a drummer, and also learning to play guitar (since the age of 16...now 29). i've also learned from professional bass players on the very basics of grooving with the band. I like different styles of music....

that was awesome. Only complaint. the guy who recorded this didn't show carter at all.
