True, the M5 has +30 HP. But hwne it starts to turn the BMW M3 have much mroe confindense than the M5; it is a betetr and easier car to drive fast with.

We do standing starts as well.

if to 300 he would have caught you I think :) He lost some speed there at one of the shifts. I think if equal drivers the race would be in favor for the E92. Good race though the E39 M5 still has some serious speed that needs to be taken into account.

No question about it a stock e39 M5 would lose to a E92 M3 in every count. A Full exhaust and intake on a E39 M5 is night and day vs a stock one check out some races against the two. As for the RS6 it would pull on a E39 M5 at high speeds with ease. I have driven all these cars except the E92 and love them all. Now lets see E92 vs stock E39M5 and then E39 M5 vs RS6. Then RS6 Vs E60 M5 Which i know the M5 would pull in that case but maybe against the touring M5?

yes the 2002 RS6 came out later than the E39 M5; but the E60 M5 wasn't out yet.

basically you can't possibly argue with this:

2010 M5 > NEW RS6 > E60 M5 > OLD RS6 > E39 M5
