  • umm....also called ...

umm....also called plasma electrolysis...and only about 10% efficient, so it would not be a good form of alternative energy.

well, you can at least create more energy then is being put in right? so all you need is an efficient way to store and use.
But it is producing, you gotta put something in to get somethin back, nothing is free.

  • Here's what I see: ...

    Here's what I see:
If "cold fusion" is obtained, then it is a self-sustaining reaction that produces electricity (maybe heat too) as a byproduct. But you did not show removing the source of power, so I say this has nothing to do with cold fusion. This is zapping water with high voltage.

Show how the combustion process actually creates voltage, which feeds the electrolysis process. Then I will believe it.

Only people who does know anything about chemistry could belive this.
This is simple electrolysis of water and hydrogen combustion.
Cold fusion is something a lot more complex to do it in a plastic glass.

Some scientist says thath this reaction produce neutron radiation, this mean that nuclear reactions are involved.
This also mean that this experiment can be dangerous.
Search for the italian "rapporto 41" about cold fusion.

I felt I really needed to add a comment here for all you guys. I see allot of very mis informed views being shared.

In experimental research... the amount of energy reported in some of the experiments appeared to be too great compared to the small mass of the material in the cell for it to be stored by any chemical process.

I think this easily demonstrates that he entered less energy than is produced, if you were to assemble this on a large scale the input voltages would remain the same.

So in this paper he recognizes that efficiency is just 10%, even less, which for me was obvious from the very begining...Low voltage electrolysis gives high efficiency! Only!!!

  • Mizuno is the most ...

Mizuno is the most scientific guy among all these plasma electrolysis charlatans. In internet, together with Kanarev, he claims that plasma electrolysis is a "cold fusion", and all this mistery magic stuff! They even published on-line article together. Mizuno wants to show that he is a scientific guy, and his paper was even accepted by scientific jornal (reference above). And of cause he could not lie, it's not internet garbage, real data only.

  • Kanarev and all ...

Kanarev and all other "Plasma Electrolysis guys" are cheating us. Light and sparks look good, however plasma electrolysis needs high voltage, more than 100 V. It decreases efficiency of energy conversion from electrical power to chemical work greatly! Efficiency of plasma electrolysis is below 10%. Here is a reference for Mizuno's paper: Japanese Journal of Applied Physics Vol. 44, No. 1A, 2005, pp. 396--401.

  • Why people are so ...

Why people are so excited? Plasma electrolysis needs high voltage, so efficiency is low. about 10%!!! it takes a lot of energy!!! Here is Mizuno's paper: Japanese Journal of Applied Physics Vol. 44, No. 1A, 2005, pp. 396--401. It makes everything clear.

  • thats not fusion. ...

thats not fusion. Electrolisis breaks H2O bond releasing hydrogen and oxygen. Plasma arc (welding arc) ignites Hydrogen. Simple chemical reaction that consumes way more energy than it produces. Like plugging generator into wall (you will produce electricity but not as much as you use)

  • I am trying to ...

I am trying to build one but I am running into trouble due to lack of published. I have heard it is just an arc of plasma that is seperating the oxygen and hydrogen from that water. I just had a chat with some colledge student who made one. All he had for me was "like don't use salt to increase conductivity it like produces chlorine gas." I already knew that.

  • I agree. It's just ...

I agree. It's just a plasma arc in the water also making oxy and hydrogen from the electrical current; then burning it again in the arc. If it was real fusion shoulda checked for helium and also neutron production.

  • Definitely not ...

Definitely not fusion. Very cool demonstration though. Yes hydrogen is being generated by electrolysis. Yes a plasma is formed under the influence of the arc energy. But this has nothing to do with fusion.

For anyone who is interested in serious cold fusion science, try reading up on muon-catalyzed fusion of deuterium and tritium. Dr. Steven E. Jones, in the U.S., has done some excellent research on the subject.
