Tom Hanks Endorses Obama for President

"I know my endorsement has just made up your mind for you"....

When I heard this, I thought it was going to be a joke, a parody of a celebrity political endorsement. I kept waiting for the jokes, and then I realized you were not kidding.

I know people can be nuts but I have yet to hear someone say that his/her decision on something such as this was made based on a celebrity's opinion of the matter. Yet, I can't count how many times I've heard the media or celebrities themselves tell us that we are so stupid as to allow (or even need) celebrities to tell us how to feel, behave and think. I wonder how much of this is fact and how much is media-suggestion.

I like you Tom, I really do. You are one of my favorite actors but I know that you are just that, an actor - and a fellow human being. Your celebrity status does not have the power to make up my mind for me when it comes to decisions such as who to vote for for the President of the United States. I will listen and consider what you have to say, as I would anyone else, but in the end, I make up my own mind. Anyone that would follow a celebrity suggestion without having a mind of his/her own, is someone that should not be voting in the first place.

That's what it is all about. The right person for the right job. If Obama wins this election, the US will project a whole new image to the Western world. America is ready for a new and prosperous direction to all of us, not just for a few.

I blame the media for indulging her. The clintons act as if the white house is their God given right. They define the rules as they go along. I heard her say yesterday to the ppl in Indiana to vote for her because their lives depended on it!! wtf?
