    yeah why the hospital? maybe because that's why infant (and mother) mortality rates have dropped like a rock in the western world. Most pregnancies are fine at home, problem is when you have your baby at home and then come running in at the last minute when you bleed out. It's good to have a team of medical specialists on hand who know your history and are prepared for the worst if it should happen.

    Is this a promotional video for hospital births?

    I've heard Europe doesn't hospitalize mothers nearly as often as America where it is almost standard practice.

    I don't think it's a good idea. Doctors telling you turn this way, breathe like this, injecting you with drugs, then offering cesarean sections way too often which are usually necessitated by the drugs. It doesn't seem right. I know it's necessary in some cases but my children will be born at home if possible.
