MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK SWIM WRAPS UP AT THE RALEIGH HOTEL AS THE PREMIERE SWIMWEAR EVENT NATIONWIDE

Miami, Fla. (July 22, 2008) -- The sun has set on Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim Monday, closing another outstanding season of resort and swimwear collections in Miami's South Beach. Veteran collections as well as fresh new faces from around the world brought international attention to the event. Celebrities and the fashion flock came out to celebrate the swimwear industry's most exciting annual event.
The week kicked off with a show and opening party by Italian favorite Diesel. Diesel models appeared on a glass runway floating over the pool, as they showed the hottest prep school-inspired swimwear looks for men, women and children. The Diesel show was followed by a musical performance from Pharrell's favorite Harvard Boys, Chester French. International fashion brands Custo Barcelona and tibi launched their inaugural swimwear collections making a splashing debut on the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim runway. Celebrity favorites who presented their looks on the runway included Ed Hardy Swimwear and ViX Swimwear. The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim newcomers included Pistol Panties, Luli Fama, Poko Pano, SYLA by Sylvie Cachay and Tommy Bahama. The event's returning favorites roster featured Red Carter, this season's Mercedes-Benz Presents designer, Cia.Marítima and ANK by Mirla Sabino. Closing the week was Lifetime's How to Look Good Naked presented by XTRA LIFE LYCRA® and hosted by Carson Kressley.
