Brief tutorial explains how to take a custom white balance measurement on a Nikon D80/200/300 DSLR in order to achieve good white balance results without spending a fortune.
I tried toilet paper, Cottonelle to be exact, the results were Disastrous.
And yes the toilet paper was unused!! grrr

In all seriousness though, it shouldn't matter, as long as it's a fairly neutral white.
what kind of toilet paper are you using? this is a real question.

I had a guy tell me about using a styrofoam cup and just didn't get it.
So I should upgrade my D200 to a D300?
