  • lots of space

if you have lots of like in your mouse case you may want to consider upgrading your joule thief circuit with a capacitor and a more efficient transformer
google "talking electronics" and "joule thief"

Thats a good idea, yea I have one of those too the thing is you don't want the wires to be wrapped more than 18 times for some odd reason it works better when you have less wraps, try it though it may be differant then the few that I got, I tried mine and no go so I had to re wrap them.

the one in my digital answering machine has 4 leads but it might be a transformer but it looks almost like your joule thief in your vid, and I do have an old PC power supply i can rip that out of, i have wire from an old transformer will that work i think its coated i can find out with my pocket blowtorch, just burn the wire if it flames up then its coated, i use this method to remove the coating from the wires of headphones when im fixing them

Yea type in make a joule thief on here it will tell you all you need, about 1.5 to 2ft. resin coated copper wire works better than what they use on thier vid though. you can find this wire wrapped around the ferrite wheel in a power supply unit from an old pc.
the one your talking about is similar but you actualy only have two leads comming off of it you need to have the four leads.
