I am saddened that after the terrible news today that Scott Lost his life during a Qualifying run at Englishtown, that I only see videos of the crash being posted to YouTube.

It's a pretty sad dialogue of human culture to know people would rather view the crash that ended instead of the moments that hilight a drivers' career.

I filmed this clip back when I worked for Mac Tools. It is of a press conference in which Scott Kalitta was announcing his return to racing by way of the Mac Tools / West Coast Choppers Top Fuel Rail.

I think this video illustrates, in Scott's way, his excitement to return to racing. I think it's important to stress that while he was taken from the world too soon, he went out doing what he loved.

My heart felt sympathies go out to the Kalitta Families and the entire Kalitta racing team. Rest in peace, Scott - we'll miss you.

    Every race-car driver puts them-selves at this risk everytime they get into their car. I would no, my family members race, including me. As soon as you sit in the car and start that engine you put your self at many risks, some wonderfull..and some lead to death. Unfortunetly my friend, Scott K, died from a death risk. He never asked for this to happen, it's life and what ever happens in life, happens and thers nothing to stop it. Use your gift from god and live your life like theres no tomrrow

    God bless each member of the Kalitta family, and GET RID OF THAT DAMN WALL IN ENGLISHTOWN!! Without that there, he would most likely still be with us. Whose great idea was it to put a wall at the end of a racetrack?! That net isn't gonna stop a car going over 300 MPH, but unfortunately a cement wall will. Somebody needs to pull their head out of their ass!

    This guy's death is certainly a great loss, and we have every reason to mourn his passing. However, comments like, "I cant imagine what his family and friends are going through" are unfounded. This is a dangerous career. Death is always on this profession's doorstep. Why are we surprised when a car (i.e. motorized missile) traveling at 300+ mph blows up and disintegrates. These drivers and their families need to always prepare for death every time they strap themselves in.
