It is a silly book and pretty much useless apart from historical uses but it is probably not the worst book ever written. That would be like stating fairy tales being worthless all on there own by there own merit of being a fairy tale. The worst books ever written are of course the books that persistently claim that that book of myth is the divine infallible truth.

Just goes to show the mentality of ancient ppl and how backwards it was. What's more damning is that the bible clearly shows evidence of a god created by man. Notice how god in these times end up being very contradictory in his standards & seems to have blessed the most backwards actions of the times.

The men probably didn't care, they didn't seem to think of women as any more than goods. I'm sure the women cared..to be intimate with someone who'd previously like a brother.
