Yeah, I live in gator country and they definitely don't have that tapered snout. But we are experiencing a lot of problems in the Everglades with exotic snakes abandoned by their owners. Then again, those are mostly pythons and boas, I don't know if you can get an anaconda as a pet, probably not legally at least. Then too, a lot of people don't watch Animal Planet.

Bit of an unfair "fight", but it's the same when the tables are turned as well. And seriously, does no one recognise the crocodilian in this video to be a Caiman, NOT an Alligator? Aside from the fact that Anacondas and Alligators live on separate continents, Alligators have much broader heads and more rounded teeth. And, unlike crocodiles and caiman, their teeth don't interlock and only those in the top jaw are visible. Incredible, even with Animal Planet, people still can't tell them apart.
