    Yes, this incidental Music Alceste, deserves more recordings, this work has a powerful music, is a truly shame that it isn't so know, I think that is because it was never premiere...But well The Accademy of Ancient Music is a pioneer recovering lost works!! However this is a relatively old recording, some new singers will give to this piece a new dimension. =)

    Thank you for posting this. Amazing music (among Handel's best and nowhere near as well known as it should be) and the librettist even put into Calliope's mouth words worthy of the muse of epic poetry. A lovely interpretation from the Queen of Baroque Singing, too. :-)
