A deleted scene featuring the "Song of the Rebel Irish", from the film "Gods and Generals". Lyrics are below.

And as a general note, I do not approve of cussing or the use of foul language and if any post contains anything of that sort, I will delete it. I don't have any problem with discussion over this video, but keep it clean and dignified. Personally, I think the Civil War was a very sad time in America's history and I sympathize with both sides as well as those who were not Americans and yet fought in the war.

    What nonsence you talk. It was the US who backed down when they seized the British diplomats. Why? Because we sent several divisions to Canada and Lincoln would not dare risk a war on two fronts. Remember the British Empire was at its zenth at the time and the US would not have dared to challenge it. I dont know where you get your ideas from but they are pure myth

    Frphilipmullen you forget, He was from the Roman controlled part of Britain, and hes Catholic. The confederacy weren't criminals, not as a southerner, my great(x3) uncle was Gen. McClellan. They were demanding the rights they had to self govern the North repressed that w/ their laws/taxes. Plus one of the reasons John Bull stayed out of the War is because America said they'd give the Fenian's weapons when the war was over so the English turned tail and left. Have fun with your war mongers

    David Kincaid does an amazing version of this song on his album "The Irish American's Song". I advise all Irish Americans too go to Antietam to the sunken road, its a beautiful yet sorrowful place. As well as Gettysburg, i wish to visit Fredericksburg soon.
