A dorian second mode of G major scale. used in funk and santana and jazz. It's all the same notes as the G major scale but with the second degree as the tonal center or root. typical dorian type progression has its I chord as a minor chord and it's IV as a dominant 7 chord (such as Amin7 to D7 or D9) It's also all the same notes a D mixolydian, so this new shape could be a new position of the mixolydian from my other video. obviously there's a lot of theory behind it, so when all else fails ...
