well i do understand all ur points .. but may be its just me... i like the ball hitting my bat (no puns intended anywhere) ... during monsoons i would put the cricket ball in a sock and hang it from a ceiling and keep stroking it with my bat and practice my straight drives (high elbows n everything) .. it used to be good fun .. i'd spend hours doing that till someone complained of the noise :D ... when i read my comment again, i cant help but notice the double meaning ;-)

it might be in the real version the fun but i u want to practice your strokes and their arent any local nets or they hav been called off nd there's nowhere else to play it wat r u guna do?

good point about football. ..

whoever plays a particular sport both outdoors and virtually will agree that the real fun is in the real version. I usually like to play games on computer that i cannot play outside .. e.g. F1, ice hockey etc. for which i not only have the means to play but i also lack the skills.

But whereas football can be played ANYWHERE, its hard enough in URBAN areas to play even that.
Cricket is very hard to play in such areas and most people do go down to the park (those that are left) or join cricket clubs when they csn.

Wii idea is great idea, although i think you could only really use the remote for batting.

Also if this is a bad idea why do we not just stop making ALL sport games because "you could play them outside"?

nice sarcasm. when i said play cricket, i did not mean a test match or a one day match with all 22 players and a real pitch .. you can play cricket anytime anyplace you want. just ask any mumbaiikar. i've grown up playing cricket on a 8 by 10 feet room to a proper ground.. if you complain that playing in an 8 by 10 room is not the same as playing real cricket, then how come playing a wii cricket any better?

Yeah lets go hire a pitch find another 21 players and a couple of umpires eh. oh and let's do it whenever I want eh. Yeah a midnight game of cricket for all, because cyberninja thinks that would be great and viable. Do you think possibly the people that want to play wii cricket, do actually play the game too. No, that would mean thinking wouldn't it!! Do I want to play a full game of cricket at 9pm after a few beers on a Wednesday evening? No, I think I'll play on the wii, knobjockey.

To those saying this is fake, it most certainly isn't. I haven't actually used the script provided, but it WILL work if using GlovePie, a Wiimote and a Bluetooth adapter, and the script. I play many PC games using a Wiimote.
