I am no expert at all but I believe Aikido would be the best way to go. It works on using people's momentum against them and everything.

  • I 100% agree, ...

I 100% agree, however, even if your school is business minded, you as a student can choose to be NOT promoted when you think you dont deserve something, right? belts and ranks do not mean anything, they have no true value, its ones own skills that are valuable.
if u become skilled, you have to keep doing it because if you stop , you will lose it all, right? so its a lifestyle that you can build yourself regardless of dojo ur attending. you are only there to take the knowledge and not the belt.

  • As a practioner of ...

As a practioner of the Arts (tradionally Korean) I enjoy all styles and enjoy using techniques from various systems. My 6 year old son has just earned his Patriot Belt in Shoryn Ryu. Its sad to say that today, the Arts have become a business. Many schools are lacking in the fundamentals of building the foundation. Discipline, Respect, Integrity. Many kids are being promoted for the dollar and not on their skills and knowledge.

  • I knew u were gonna ...

I knew u were gonna say TKD, but id just like to warn you my friend of the other Shorin-ryu styles. they are NOT like the Seibukan, Seibukan Shorin-ryu is a relatively RARE style, and its only available in 7 countries outside japan. the very CLOSEST style to Seibukan Shorin-ryu is the popular Shotokan, because their they both came from one same origin.you can find Shotokan karate in almost every city of the world.go to shotokan if theres no Seibukan shorin-ryu
