This tutorial is aimed at getting people used to some of the essential and basic tools that the FREE graphic software Paint.Net has to offer.

Paint.Net can be downloaded FOR FREE at http://www.getpaint.net/

This video covers:
-parts of the Color window
-selecting colours from the colour wheel, palette and expanded Color window
-adding colours to the palette
-picking colours from images with the Color Picker (eyedropper) tool
-saving your new palette
-resetting to your default palette

This video was made with CamStudio, and the drawing was done with a Graphire 4 graphics tablet, made by Wacom.

  • Thanks very much ...

Thanks very much for the kind words. :)

I think that part of the reason I've wanted to make these videos this way is that A) there seems to be nothing else like them around, and B) I remember how much of a hard time I had with some graphics software packages when I was getting started on them.

I figure that by giving people a bit of a headstart so that they can more competently dive into the program, the more likely they are to keep using it.

  • Your tutorials are ...

Your tutorials are amazingly helpful. I'm really dumb when it comes to digitally colouring things etc., and your guides make my life a little bit easier. Thanks a lot! By the way, you have a very clear speaking voice, and very expressive, which is probably why people don't get bored. <3

  • If I understand ...

If I understand what you mean, you're saying "when would I use it", yes?

If so, one use might be, for example, if you drew an outline in black, and wanted to change it to another colour, like blue. This could be done with Recolor. If you can get the settings right, it could also be used to, say, change someone's shirt from red to yellow, or change eyecolour from brown to green.
