    Checking the gate, in filming, is what everyone wants to hear, because it means they've got a take of the scene they're filming that they like, and they're checking for imperfections in the film... I think. Either way, it means they've got the take they want, and they're not going to make everyone do the take again. Which is very nice really, since there can be about a billion takes of one shot, and it gets very tiring very quickly.
