Replayed during halftime of the AFC Championship game for the 1997 season.
@17MattyT LOL!! That's the best response I've seen. It's almost impossible to tell if the ball hits Fuqua on the way out, but it definitely hit Tatum. That said, it was indeed a lucky play, and an awful way to lose, even though the refs probably made the right call.

By 17MattyT [Affiliate User] 1282274867Tatum should have apologized to his own fans. He could have easily broken up the pass but he had to be "The Assassin" and cost his own team the game.
By cugamer [Affiliate User] 1282101467Those of you wondering why Tatum never apologized... why should he? His hit was clean and legal. He was DOING HIS JOB! He said repeatedly he never intended to injure Stingley, but apologize for doing his job? Did Grogan apologize for throwing a crap pass? Did Dr Z of Sports Illustrated apologize for claiming Tatum hit Stingley while on the ground and that's what caused the accident? Which was a complete lie and Z knew it when he printed it.
It was a tragedy, but Tatum was simply doing his job.
