the ".bat-thing" is short for batch that stands for batch file wich runs when you double click it. It's an extension such as ".avi" or ".bmp". Most computer configurations do not show the extension.
So if you leave away the "bat-thing" the file showed on the vid is a "nothing".
by the way: this isn't going to work in any way with or without the .bat extension 'cause there's no PC on earth that understands a "virus.bat" as shown
