I'm sorry for turning this into an antireligious argument, but it sickens me how anyone could - in light of the sheer size of the universe (and our apparent irrelevance) - think that somehow there's this God watching over their tiny lives, like it matters if you pass tomorrows' test or win the state lottery. Just think about it.

I always appricated the completely unappriciatable scale of the universe...but I had no idea stars varried this much. I always thought it was just 5 times or so at most before it all collapse's.

I hate the discrimination of beeing told alone and the only intelligent life in Universe, told by the church and the rest of the ppl with small brains! i hate it! So this is a newer version, ne? I'm surprised they had VY Canis Majoris as the biggest star instead of VV Cephei A. We're so small an insignificant. And just imagine, there could be much, much greater stars out there, it really is a small world.

I have always had a fascination with the universe. While visual descriptions are better, just think of the size of the universe as a whole. If you think the bodies are big, think of how much empty space is out there! If it takes LIGHT FOUR YEARS to get the next closest star to the Sun, then imagine just what could be out there!
