Jeremy Irons is beautiful and a wonderful actor. I did read that he was so disturbed at some of the simulation acts that he vomited after the scene and required to only do the scene once. If it didn't take, it didn't make the movie.

Netflix has it.

I tried to read it once too but only got as far as their first time together (the pills he gave her really put me off Humbert in a bad way) After seeing the movie, however, I'm tempted to give it another try. I just hope I don't get bored now I know the story.

the 'hype' ur referring to is basically the controversy that surrounds a story such as this. to understand it fully, please do read the book, it is better than the movie.

Okay, that last part where he thinks that they have found out what was going on was priceless. The look on his face...he looked like he was about to S**t himself. LMAO

I need to see this movie, I adore Jeremy Irons, and I thought the part of the book I could get through was quite good. Didn't read the whole thing, however, I was in a very picky mood and couldn't settle down with one whole book for very long.

actually, it was released in 1997.. but anywho... I have heard so much debate over her age.. they're not going to do anything illegal and get funding for it, especially in a world that's gung-ho on the case of pedophilia. It's the illusion of youth that freaks people out with this film.. I wouldn't worry about her age any more than his.

she was NOT 18 when it was made she was 16 or 17. she was born in august of 1980. the movie was made in 1997.

the actress was 18, when this movie was shot.

for those who didnt know (and there seem to be a lot...): "Nymphs" dont exist. a sexual abused child turns into this kind of "lolita typ". 90% of all prostitutes where abused as children. its something in the brain that works wrong. the child starts to be active in a sexual way self motivated - but NEVER actually voluntarily and for sure NEVER CAUSE THE CHILD REALLY WANTS THAT.
