Thank you, I have considered the change in the past, but found highest temps by brazing the copper tube to the bottom of the aluminum sheet. I will try 2 plexiglass layers and check temps. Thanks again...ernie

nice and easy build, but.. I strongly recommend a small change in design..

1:Spray copper tubes black as well.
2:Switch the shiny alu foil for the BLACK alu foil sheat.
3:Put in a extra plexiglass.

So now you have BLACK foil as background AND the BLACK tubes directly in the sun, not behind the foil as for now.. And the 2 plexiglasses will retain heat much better :)

I think a few of these on an RV and use leemer12's idea to store it and you would have a great way to heat water in your RV.

I wonder if it is possible to build one of these and feed the hot water pipe into a old water heater somehow like maybe replace the elecrical elements with something to heat the water inside with out getting anti-freeze into the main water. To store the pre heated water to be fed into the main waterheater to regulate the water entering the home. If it is possible please go into great details on how to do this.

increadible step by step explanation of solar water heater. best ever seen on youtube about this type. i think the pump can be ommited since cold watter at the bottom will go up to the upper side of the tube, therefore there is an exchange of cold-to-hot water. Saw that explanation on another video. unless we want to increase the temperature on the water tank than having a pump helps a lot. the tank can be a simple tank i presume to maintain low cost. :D

This is a hot water solar system. The only electricity is used from the grid to power the circulating pump.

is it electrisity in the in/uotlets (the copper tube)?????? plz answer.

I really liked your solar water heater design. It seems to be the best one that I have found on the net. When are you going to make part 2 to show how you use this design and connect to a usable water source. I am interested in trying this design.

This sample box was only a small working prototype. The 4 panels that I will install will be 2'x 8' so they will be easy to handle,and cost effective. The next video will show the building and istallation. Search the web for information and ideas until the new video. Thanks Ernie
