A smash is pretty much a clear with a different contact point. The mechanics for a smash are all the same as for a clear but you get more behind the bird to get the angle. So if you really want to improve your smash master your clear technique.

I'd like to say, that what you said isn't true. These kind of instructional videos help the players who are not able to do a certain skill, and as a simple video, it is easy to understand.

actually taufiks smash was recorded in kilometers not miles. so the video was kinda correct

"Over 200 miles per hour"... Taufik's forehand smash can reach speeds over 300 MPH, and his backhand can reach speeds over 250 MPH.

Just goes to show that professionals are really at the top of the game.
