This is an introduction to HTML using Notepad. While some prefer to use a WYSIWYG editor, HTML can be a great benefit if you want to modify your MySpace profile, embed video clips on your blog, etc.

    I cannot get IE to "run" the text file. When I open with IE, an IE window appears with the exact text of the file. It doesn't change the title/header or anything else. It just shows the text like when I open it with notepad. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Make sure you have ...

    Make sure you have the extensions turned on. Open a folder and go up to TOOLS > FOLDER OPTIONS > VIEW and uncheck the box that says "Hide extensions for known file types." That means your file might say "mywebpage" before and "mywebpage.txt" after.

    I hope this works.

    Yes, you're right about making coders cringe. No offense, I know you're just being very basic. But to actually teach people to use center and marquee tags, not to mention not mentioning using paragraph tags and writing directly into the body isn't really a good thing to do.
