I began constructing this costume in June of 2009. The technical challenge of creating a working transformer greatly appealed to me, although it did turn out to be more difficult and expensive than I had originally planned. It transforms from a functional Ford Mustang into a real live Autobot. All with me inside! All of the electronics, including the LED lights, motors, and sound effects are powered by a small 12V battery under the hood. The wheels turn beautifully, unfortunately they don't have enough traction to propel me forward, which was the original intention. Hopefully "Blue Steel 2.0" will have that upgrade.
