  • How dumb is this? ...

How dumb is this? The first thing he says is to land with a headwind, and he goes ahead and lands with a tailwind! Then goes on to tell why you don't do what he is doing. Truly a lesson on what NOT to do!

With a total of only about 60 hours of flight experience, I'd feel humiliated if I made a landing like that!

  • Incredible, yet ...

Incredible, yet again another video showing me a landing that ive had my ass kicked for doing. The difference is im a dumb ass student and this is a CFI. Way high, he needed 30 deg flap and more throtle off before the threshold to compensate for what he obviously knew was a tail wind.

  • you let the flaps ...

you let the flaps out too late and the throttle should of been down lower if you were to put the flaps that late and you werent in line with the run way when you made your turn and there was no tailwind blowing you off but whatever floats your boatXD

  • If your landing ...

If your landing tail wind you know to reduce throttle sooner and expect to be blown so you overcompensate. This guy had about 10 feet before he ran off the other side of the run way. Should have throttled up and flew the traffic pattern again before attempting to land for the sake of the camera

  • You mentioned your ...

You mentioned your airspeeds saying "about". There is no such thing as about. If approach speed is 75 knots, then it is exactly that, nothing more or less. If the aircraft is able to land with a Xwind, then the limitations of that tailwind are present in the operating manual for that specific aircraft. You must mention that. Assume your students are going to fly much more complex equipment and teach them accordingly. It is harder to re-train a pilot than it is to teach correctly.

  • You past the ...

You past the touchdownzone about 3 counties ago! You must really know your aircraft's performance to be able to set it down in the middle of the runway length like that and not worry. Way to stick the landing... like a brick!

  • I know not everyone ...

I know not everyone uses a checklist after a while, but as an instructor making an instructional video, don't you think using a landing checklist with students is a good practice? What about carb heat? Did you scan for traffic and make announcements before making those turns? Centerline? Flare? I never heard the stall horn which means that was probably a hard landing. Gotta watch out for you weekend flyers.

Where were your radio announcements? You gotta let other aircraft know that you're in the area and entering the pattern!

I am sorry but you do not fly well. You were too fast too high you where adding flaps too late and you didnt turn into base/final correctly , you made an excuse that it was blowing you off and then you made another excuse that the wind then turned into a tailwind. you were also off centerline.
