Morocco / Maroc : Merzouga Sand Dunes

Alors qu’une liste provisoire des clients de l’escroc américain Bernard Madoff a été rendue public, les milieux bancaires casablancais affirment que Mohammed VI a perdu des plumes dans ce scandale financier. Mais le Palais s’est empressé de faire taire ces vilains bavards. C’est une hypothèse qui, depuis deux semaines, égaye les discussions dans les milieux bancaires haut de gamme de la capitale économique du royaume enchanté du Maroc, Casablanca. A entendre ces financiers à la langue bien pendue, le roi Mohammed VI aurait perdu des sous — pas mal de sous — dans l’escroquerie géante de l’homme d’affaires américain Bernard Madoff. Arrêté par le FBI en décembre 2008, ce conseiller en investissements à Wall Street et ancien patron de la bourse Nasdaq est accusé d’avoir orchestré la plus grosse fraude de l’histoire de la finance. Celle-ci pourrait atteindre les 50 milliards de dollars. Menaces pour faire taire les bavards Mais au Maroc, les banquiers ont brutalement cessé de caqueter ce week-end. Et gare à la presse qui, sur place, s’aventurerait à relayer l’hypothèse de pertes financières importantes de Mohammed VI dans l’affaire Madoff. Certains font part d’interventions qui sont allées jusqu’à la menace pour les faire taire, surtout s’ils tentaient de régler leurs comptes avec Mohamed Mounir Majidi, le conseiller financier et grand argentier de Sa Majesté, réputé pour sa gloutonnerie économique et que la vindicte populaire désigne naturellement. Majidi pas coupable de la « bavure financière » Pourtant, à Casablanca, des sources concordantes affirment que, pour une fois, Mounir Majidi n’est pas responsable de cette « bavure financière ». Car Mohammed VI a, depuis longtemps, ses propres réseaux d’investissements aussi bien en Europe qu’aux Etats-Unis. Ces mêmes sources soulignent que des conseillers financiers faisant partie du lobby juif américain à New-York — qui entretient d’excellentes relations avec le souverain chérifien — auraient mis en relation le roi du Maroc et Bernard Madoff. Ce dernier a même été repéré à plusieurs reprises à Marrakech accompagné de certaines figures du Palais royal…
