As a pianist, "The Killer" Jerry Lee Lewis always complained because he had to sit down during his shows. Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash suggested him to stand up. Jerry Lee accepted their advice. So he started to kick the chairs, to go up on the keyboards and even to burn pianos.
About a hundred years ago, when I was in the service, I had a free front row seat at a show at the Pasramount theatre in New York city. Jerry Lee Lewis was there along with Fats Domino, Sam the man, etc. When this guy came on, I thought they were going to tear the house down. He had a way of making you move. Great show, great music.

By shyjesta [Affiliate User] 1215745747Saw Jerry Lee in his early period in Boston in the traveling Alan Freed show along with Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly and the Crickets, Connie Francis, the Big Bopper, and others. Only big names missing were Little Richard and Elvis. Jerry Lee is the best of the white singers of that time, and of course Little Richard is the best of the black early R & R singers.
By shabaash [Affiliate User] 1215740473i remember when i saw great balls of fire and he lit the piano on fire, i screamed because i didn't know if the real jerry lee lewis did that. now i heard he does, so i admire him for his creativity :D
