Yes, it was sung at ...
Yes, it was sung at the coronation of George V, but as Tagore himself said, it was not directed at him. Some people thought the "director of India's destiny and the animator of the minds of all people" was supposed to be George V, but Tagore said people have to have the basic common sense to realize this is not a reference to George V, VI or any George. It is really directed at God (or whatever you may want to call It).

I honestly sallute, but I want to tell that this song was not for the our nation, this was only gift to King George Fifth by Ravindra Nath Tagor, in 1857 to may be till 1889 our National song & Anthem only Vande Ma Taram.
