I think she smashes the trophies to signify that winning accolades, such as gold medals, isn't what is important. Kind of a metaphorical middle finger to the IOC.

Since the US is so dominant in the sport is a main reason the IOC is getting rid of it. So it's almost like they're angry at all the medals/trophies they have won.

YEAA LETS GO USA !! yes softball is the best sport ever! oh man i miss playing in hs and i just graduated lol.. played 2nd 3rd and outfield... KEEP IT IN THE OLYMPICS!! :)

I played softball in college and my roommate is on the olympic team and the point of this ad is to address the fact that softball is being taken out of the olympic games. Its saying that the USA has softball, we dominate in it, so they can have everything else cause they will never touch us in this. I love it, cause its would be east to be bitter about our sport being taken out, but its sayin screw them, we dominate and thats all that matters.

i retract my ignorant comments from before and realize that most girls who play sofball are girly girls off the field. i just ran into the wrong one that was raised around a bunch of uncles that basically turn her into a tomboy. i am sorry for offening you girls. i just went on a tyrant because i saw this commercial on tv during the olympics. and then, i saw it on here and it made me snap at all softball players. just because some dumb tomboy girl shot me down . again, sorry girls.

show me a softball player who isn't a bitch, and i might change my perspective. the ones i have run into have been bitches. oh, by the way. i did everything to be nice to this girl and she broke my heart. guess i am mostly bitter at her and taking it out on every softball player. i guess that is wrong of me and i should apologize. but, they all seem like dumb hicks. this hick song playing along to this commercial shows an example of it.

you just proved my point by not knowing how to type or spell. the mojority of the ones i knew in high school and just ran into off the street from playing in college, are some of the dumbest girls i know. dumber than the blonde ditz almost. these girls that played college ball, didn't get there by being smart. they got there because they know how to played softball. big deal!!!!!

I think you need to get a clue, "MachoDude". Most athletes, not just softball players LOVE their sport and almost consume themselves in it, because it's what they enjoy the most. If people don't have something that they love and can make ther life about, then what is there. You are obviously confused. Especially if you have daughters in the sport, you're really confused. That's all the more you should understand it.

KillerOfFire - I don't think you can sum up all female softball players by your experience. My point of contention isn't with softball players, it's with NIKE. This commercial uses a double entendre to pay homage to the fact that the Olympics are discontinuing the sport, and couples it with the philosophy that softball is the be all and end all of life. Keep in mind that the "you" in "you can have everything else" is the American viewing public. People are easily brainwashed....sigh.
