3) I'm a Sikh Punjabi coming from a Hindu family (bcause my mum, according to traditional Punjabi customs, raised me Amritdhari..as it is done by Hindu punjabi families from back in the day in honor of Guru Nanak ji), I know the history..and am totally against the Indian govt at not having issued an apology as yet. I even support the struggle for Khalistan, but i'm against the dividing of India for it.

1) Because in present times, it doesn't make sense. Plus, the want for a seperate land is died down.
2) If the Indian govt gives Sikhs the land of Khalistan, then every state and community will arise demanding their own land, etc. The WHOLE of India will be nothing.

do sikhs allow other forms of martial arts in their Gatka training?

zut212, where did you hear this my friend. A true Sikh judges others on their actions, not on their religion, gender, race, caste, or color.

That said, marriage within the religion is best, because generally you will have similar values.

well u jst heard dat..its not true......plus anyone wud like to marry his/her daughter to a respectful,generous person who can keep his/her daughter happy..nomatter where he's from..and mostly marriage in same religion is more preferred..i have nothing against islam but sikh and muslim marriage is least encouraged..so whatever heard is;nt true

I heard that Sikhs are more willing to marry their daughters off to Pakistanis (who mostly are Punjabis anyways) or to a white than to a man from Chennai/Bangalore.
